2024 Guests Part 3

 October
Sunday, October 6, we had Steve and Debbie Goodenow, and Lonnie Witt over for dinner.

On Sunday, October 13, we had Janet Sankey and Brittany Stamper over for dinner.
Apparently, we only captured Brittany in a photo.

On October 15, we had guests for lunch and played games.  Donna Fort goes to Jeffrey and Lesa's church The Crossing in Houston, Texas.  Donna was visiting her sister Marianne Green in Cincinnati and wanted to come and meet us.  Donna is in a Sunday School class at The Crossing that has prayed for me and sent cards and greetings ever since my leg broke in October of 2023!  We played several rounds of Chicken Foot Dominoes and Donna won every single time!
Emily was home for fall break!

On October 22, our 41st anniversary, we had Gordon and Nancy Snider and Lonnie Witt for breakfast.  Nancy is Janet's daddy's cousin, and sister to Judy Hershberger, who was here as a guest earlier in the year.  The Sniders had traveled to Lonnie's, stayed the night, and wanted to see us before continuing to a revival meeting in West Virginia.  We were happy to see them and we had a nice visit over breakfast.

Darrell and Regina Stetler came over later in the day.  We always love to have them stop in for a visit.

Judy Southerland also came by that day and brought us some fruit.
On October 24, Pam, Noah, and Asher Wilson came by to pick up Emily to go hiking.
On October 25, Rhoda Valentine drove up from Tennessee to buy our quilting machine to make room for the new one being shipped.
Joanna Johnston drove here from Alleghany Wesleyan College to spend the weekend since Emily was here.  We loved having Joanna with us again.

Jason and Karen came over for dinner on the 27th.

Emily brought Bananagrams to teach us to play.

November
On November 3, we had Janet Sankey, Esther Seeley, Jerrel Collins and his grandma, Sue Fleming, and Timothy Hunter for Sunday dinner.  Esther, Jerrel, and Timothy are GBS students.

November 10, Brittany Stamper, Doug and Joan Hodnett, and Jim and Judy Southerland
were our Sunday guests.

No pictures, but on November 21, Darrell and Regina Stetler were by to pray for Janet's knee replacement surgery the next day; Kacey Rials came by to ask Rowen to be a groomsman in his May wedding.
We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday, November 29 with Jason and Karen coming over.

We put together a hard cupcake puzzle.  Karen probably put more pieces together than the rest of us put together, by working on a pizza pan.

But we were totally successful, and got it all together!

December
The Kinnamans popped in for a short visit on December 4, and the Stetlers brought by some yummy food on December 6.

December 15, we enjoyed having Julianna Wright for dinner and the afternoon.

December 22, the Litchfield family joined us for Sunday dinner and a nice visit in the afternoon.  Jake and Naomi, Rees, Misha, Hadassah, Darlene, and Clara have been part of our church a little over a year, but they are looking forward to going back to the land of their calling: Thailand in the spring.  It was so nice to have them over again.  God has done such a good work in Rees's health in his fight against lymphoma.  So many people have prayed for him and God has answered.  He will continue with maintenance chemo monthly for another year.

Our sweet visitation pastors visited December 24. The main attraction was getting to see Emily, but we all had a nice visit and prayer together.

We are so glad to have Emily home for Christmas!

One of the things Elizabeth and Emily have worked on this Christmas break is Emily's book.  She wrote it mostly when she was 12 and 13, and rewrote it while she was in college.  This past year, she drew the illustrations for it.  Elizabeth formatted it for her, and we have been editing it, getting it ready to get printed sometime soon in 2025!!!

Sunday, December 29 family photo

It was our privilege to have the Stetlers and the Strouds over for Sunday dinner!
Brittany Stamper came over after church on Sunday night.

We had Jason and Karen over on December 30 to celebrate Christmas with them.
They loved hearing Emily's baby stories from her Red Bird class at Happy Hands.
We had some special hot chocolate a friend gave us for Christmas.
We're thankful for each guest--family or friend that we have spent time with in 2024.
